The book Second Beginnings: Senior Living Redefined cites The Book Stop Project as a case study. WTA Architecture and Design Studio is honored to be part of a book with The Book Stop Project.
Commissioned by the Lien Foundation, COLOURS: Collectively Ours produced Second beginnings: Senior living Redefined. The book aims to shape change through design for seniors in Singapore. Furthermore, it proposes 10 types of spaces within the community to enable seniors to engage in their passions activities.
One type of space, wherein The Book Stop projects is mentioned, is the Community Pocket. Along with Sha Tin Community Green Station, The Book Stop Projects becomes a model for the Community Pockets that supports the idea of de-institutionlization. The proposed Community Pocket in the book features a ribbon of spaces that allows pockets of activities that also extends from the indoors to outdoors.
The book was shortlisted for the INDIE.Awards 2018 in “The Influencer” category.
