Mannie acquired his bachelor's degree in architecture from the Mapua Institute of Technology in 1984 and passed the board exams of July 1986. He has been an architect for more than 30 years and had experienced a variety of architectural and engineering projects, and had a chance with working with several designers, consultants, and contractors both local and abroad. Early in his career, he worked as an architectural renderer, a detailer, graphic and layout artist, and part-time contributing designer for Home Ideas Magazine. He later joined the office of Asian Architects in 1991 and got involved in doing private residences, study centers, and schools notable of which is the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) Campus in Pasig. Mannie's work also included projects for the clergy, designing oratories, small chapels and church “retablos” or altar backdrops for several churches around metro manila. In the early part of the 2000s, he had a brief stint overseas being employed in several consulting firms in the Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain preparing architectural working drawings for different undertakings around the region like villas, supermarkets, and showrooms. Preferring to work in the Philippines rather than abroad, Mannie landed a job in construction as a project architect for DDT Konstract in 2004, assigned at the SM Supercenter Mall project in Cavite. In 2006 he was accepted at GF & Partners, Inc. as a Senior Architect and designated as one of the job captains to handle large scale projects including the Trinoma Mall in Q.C. and the Serendra East Tower Condominium in Taguig. Mannie joined the WTA Team in March 2014 as Project Manager and later as Associate Director
