The Esperanza Tower of Cebu CFI COOP is a 30-storey residential development located in Juana Osmeña St., Capitol Site, Cebu City Philippines. The tower aims to spark interest for the development of the city. To achieve this, the tower’s design focuses on the beauty of its form. The design transforms balconies into gentle curves, signifying movement while also creating unique spaces for the users. The wooden ceilings, visible from the streets, offer an organic aesthetic that complements the curvilinear form of the tower.
MICRO/FACADE PODIUM
The podium’s design takes inspiration from the low-rise houses surrounding the site. It mimics the proportions of a typical house, blending in with the neighborhood and respecting its scale. The podium’s loft-type units, unique from all the other floors, also offer the typical commodities that come with single-detached homes, translated into elements familiar to high-rise living. The balcony acts as a front yard, offering landscaping, outdoor living spaces, and access to the street and neighbors. The amenities floor acts as the unit’s roof deck, and the ground floor can be converted into a commercial space that gives owners a chance to generate income.
The interior design emulates the ripple effect through the use of undulating cuves on feature walls and non-rectilinear furniture. White calacatta marble flooring is used to create the illusion of waves moving through its veining and to give the effect of understated luxury. Different shades of teal and cobalt peak through within the area to break the bright neutrality of the space.
The bedroom units create a simulation of ripples where in and area seamlessly leads to another. The open plan maximizes the communal area’s functionality while the sweeping view of the view from the balcony provides an unobstructed view of Cebu. Elements of the crest are being reflected through the light-colored walls, plush furniture and filleted edges of built-in counters.
