The Book Stop Project Arrives in Filinvest City
The famous pop-up library from Intramuros, The Book Stop, has arrived in Alabang. Located at Central Park, Filinvest City, this open library is the perfect spot to discover new reads and interact with fellow readers.
"In time for Araw ng Pagbasa, this community library invites everyone to share, explore, and rediscover the joy of reading," Filinvest City announced on Instagram.
Built through a partnership between Filinvest and WTA Architecture + Design Studio, The Book Stop offers a unique space where visitors can enjoy, borrow, and donate books for free. With its inviting design, it encourages a love for reading and makes books accessible to all. Whether you’re a casual reader, a bookworm, or simply looking for a relaxing spot to unwind, The Bookstop is a great place to find one's self in.
You can also support their “Give a Book, Get a Book” initiative and help keep the love for reading alive. Donations can be made directly at The Book Stop Project in Central Park, or you can message Filinvest City’s social media pages for more details. What’s the Book Stop Project About?
The Book Stop Project is a reimagining of the traditional library experience. Instead of focusing solely on a large collection of books, it emphasizes a space for community interaction and learning. This mobile library is designed to be easy to access and casual, allowing for spontaneous moments of connection with others through books. With its innovative approach, The Bookstop encourages the exploration of new stories in a relaxed, social setting.
Originally conceptualized in 2015 by WTA Architecture + Design Studio, the project was first launched at Ayala Triangle in Makati in April 2016. It later traveled to different locations, including Intramuros, Plaza del Carmen in Quiapo, Ayala Alabang, and Quezon Memorial Circle, before returning to Intramuros in 2017. The library was then permanently installed at Plaza Roma in Intramuros in 2018, where it continues to engage readers today.
