Philippine architecture is caught between the East and the West, with American, Spanish and Japanese colonial occupation rapidly transforming its built environment. Many architects were influenced by the country’s intercultural identity. Most notably, the national Artist for Architecture, Leandro Locsin, was known for his distinct style, crafting masterpieces like the Cultural Center of The Philippines.

WTA Architecture and Design Studio takes center stage in Architecture and Urban Visions: The Power of the Imagined, an exhibit by the United Architects of the Philippines Metro Chapter (UAPMC) now on view at the Yuchengco Museum. This compelling exhibition brings together visionary yet unbuilt works from Filipino architects, offering a rare glimpse into the imaginative potential of architecture beyond physical construction.

As the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) celebrates its 50th founding anniversary, it shines a spotlight on fifty architects whose work has significantly impacted Filipino communities and the architectural profession. Among those honored is William Ti, Principal Architect of WTA Architecture and Design Studio—recognized not only for his visionary designs, but also for his unwavering belief in architecture as a force for social good.

At this year's WORLDBEX 2025, held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, WTA Architecture and Design Studio captivated attendees with a booth that blended thought-provoking interaction with an invitation to reflect deeply on the meaning of architecture. Rather than presenting polished models or showcasing glossy portfolios, WTA took a more introspective and collaborative approach—asking visitors not what architecture is, but what it could be.

The Ferdinand E. Marcos Stadium, designed by WTA Architecture and Design Studio, has been honored with the prestigious ArchDaily 2025 Building of the Year Award. This 12,000-capacity track and field stadium, located in Laoag City, Philippines, serves as a central social hub for the residents of Ilocos Norte. Its strategic placement adjacent to the Mariano Marcos State University and opposite Rizal Park enhances its accessibility and significance within the community.
